Developing awareness of young people who sexually harm

YOT workers, social workers, police officers, health professionals, residential social workers, education staff and others in the safeguarding children network.
Participants are expected to have an understanding of child development and safeguarding issues.
The course is aimed at professionals who want to increase their understanding of young people (aged 12 - 18) who sexually abuse others, their needs, and issues regarding the professional response. Course content covers:
- Myths and facts about adolescent sex offending
- Definitions of sexual abuse by young people
- Theories and Models of sexually abusive behaviour
- Overview of the professional response.
